For my 14^th birthday party fifteen friends of mine and I went to Liberty paintball field in Patterson NY to celebrate.  With me, I brought my brand new Spyder E-MR1 paintball marker.  In the first game, we played on Liberty’s speedball field.  Five seconds after the whistle was blown I was halfway down the field tearing up the other team, when out of the blue my gun quit working.  I thought it was my CO2 because I forgot to refill it before going onto the paintball field.  But then I saw my gun was not properly cocked; when attempting to re-cock it, it was stuck and just did not work.  I called myself out and went over to the referee to get his opinion on what had happened with my gun; he didn’t have a clue.  

 The referee kept at it trying to figure out what in the world was making my gun not cock back incorrectly.  In the process of doing so, the pin that cocks the gun fell out of its holder!  For the next ten minutes we had to look on the ground to find the pin.  After we finally found the pin, then we couldn't get it back in its place.  The referee was flabbergasted and couldn't figure out the problem.  He told me I should not use the gun for the rest of the day and rent a Tippman 98.  I was upset but I knew it was for the best.  Basically, I got a new Spyder E-MR1 for my birthday, used it for literally 5 seconds and it broke.  Fortunately, the Tippmann 98 I got to use allowed me to still have a great day playing paintball.  After all, a bad day playing paintball is still much better than a good day at work!
