Competitive paintball is a fast paced game (also called ‘speedball’) traditionally played on a field with teams and bunkers to hide behind. The games are timed, rarely last longer than 10-15 minutes, moderated by referees and the players are in constant motion. Competition players often wear jerseys and use automatic paintball guns that are light, high tech and shoot extremely fast. Make no mistake…. this game is adrenalin filled! In search of the best paintball gear, equipment manufacturers have developed technology that has made the game faster, safer and more fun!
Tournament paintball markers come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and price range. In most cases, price range is a good indicator for help in matching the right marker for your experience level. In general, higher priced paintball guns have more high tech parts, made with more expensive materials and are mostly used by players with more experience. It’s important to know how to use and properly care for a competition paintball marker to get the most out of it and have it last the longest. When just starting out, it’s best to choose a lower priced, basic model so your equipment is easy to operate and maintain while learning the ropes of the game.
